Dispatch and Independent intend to join forces to serve six communities

This isn’t one of those Debbie Downer stories about yet another local news organization shuttering its doors or getting bought out by a private equity firm that strips its assets and takes what little is left. Instead, it is an example of a voluntary strategic alliance formed by two vibrant news operations dedicated to keeping the residents of six Hudson River villages — from Sleepy Hollow on down through Hastings-on-Hudson —informed and engaged in their communities.
