Fundraiser nets $94K for mental wellness nonprofit
The 16th edition of the JCK Foundation’s Legends Day softball tournament raised about $94,000 to support mental wellness
The 16th edition of the JCK Foundation’s Legends Day softball tournament raised about $94,000 to support mental wellness on Saturday, July 25.
The annual event honors the life and struggles of John Cleaver Kelly, a former Irvington resident who died by suicide 15 years ago after suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Kelly died one week shy of his 25th birthday. Four months later his close friends organized the first Legends Day tournament, which took place before the JCK Foundation existed. Team Celtic Corner won this year’s tournament at Scenic Hudson Park in Irvington, which featured six teams, with players ranging in age from 15 to 68.
