Headless Horseman endures with many faces

As a child, Leora “Lee” Dillon watched Disney’s “The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad” and decided that one day, when she had her own big black horse, she would become the legendary spectral horseman of that animated film.

Today, the fantasy has become part of Dillon’s real life. At 56, she trains and boards horses at her Corinthian Equestrian Center in Warwick, N.Y. She gives lessons, leads trail rides and fox hunts, and travels to riding gigs. She also works as an ER trauma nurse.

But around Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown, she is one of several people who bring the Headless Horseman to life.
