District outlines position on synthetic fields
In letters and legal documents, the Hastings School District and Board of Education defended its choice of an artificial turf
Following weeks of public debate, three Hastings residents, including two with children in district schools, filed a petition on May 4 challenging the Hastings Board of Education’s approval of a contract for artificial turf fields.
The Dispatch obtained a copy of the petition with the petitioners’ names redacted. The document argues that the board’s vote to award the contract failed to comply with the “bid specifications and representations made… to the Petitioners and the public.”
