Scores of students stage world of Wonka
This weekend, when more than 100 Dobbs Ferry students bring the world of “Willy Wonka Jr.” to life, the collaboration
Many high school students spend their summers lifeguarding, working retail, or attending college-prep programs. Others join travel teams or enrichment camps. Some simply take a break.
But for those in Ardsley High School’s Science Research Program, summer is spent in laboratories investigating complex questions in fields ranging from physics and astronomy to cellular and molecular biology, collecting and analyzing data, writing formal research papers, and presenting original findings.
This year, that work earned two AHS seniors — Khushi Karthikeyan and Serina Tomioka — national recognition. Both were among the 300 Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholars for projects developed through the program. As scholars, each student receives a $2,000 award, with an additional $2,000 awarded to their school.
