Artists pitch in to help historical society’s home

Longtime Dobbs Ferry residents and painters Larry and Peggie Blizard are leading a benefit art sale to support the Dobbs Ferry Historical Society’s Mead House headquarters on Elm Street. 

The fundraiser, on Aug. 22 and 23, will feature the work of a dozen local artists. A portion from each sale will go to the artist and the rest will go to general maintenance, like gas, electricity, insurance, and gardening, as well as a reserve fund for future repairs to the 170-year-old Victorian home. The event also aims to attract new members to the historical society.
