Grads get messages of love and connection

The sun and the wind, as well as family and friends, turned out for the Irvington High School graduation at Matthiessen Park on the morning of Saturday, June 20.

The commencement began at 9:30 with the high school concert band, led by Debra McCumber, performing four marches as proud parents and other attendees found seats.

Twenty minutes later, the class of 2026 filed to the stage, waving to members of the audience. The band then played the national anthem, before Principal Jon Hirsch walked to the podium.
