Ardsley coach Beau Thompson knew that his team could compete with Irvington, even following a two-goal loss in its season opener on Sept. 5.
In the rematch, the Panthers trailed 1-0 at halftime but erupted in the second half to earn a 3-2 win over the visiting Bulldogs on Sept. 25.
