Rabbi reflects on 33 years of marking life’s milestones

On a Sunday in early June, Rabbi David Holtz stood on the bimah at Temple Beth Abraham in Tarrytown doing what he had done countless times over his 33 years leading the congregation — officiating at a wedding.

This wedding, however, was the first time he presided over the marriage of one of his own children. Standing beneath the chuppah was Holly, the eldest of three, and beside him was his wife, Renée, as he recited the prayers and blessings that united the couple in holy matrimony.
