Officials weigh deer management options
The Hastings Board of Trustees is continuing to consider options for deer management, including hiring the bow hunter under contract
Following a 6-0 loss to Pleasantville on Sept. 6, Hastings coach Joe Callagy told his team that they couldn’t have any lapses against strong sides.
“We have to lock in for 80 minutes,” Callagy said. “Against the good teams, if you switch off for 5 minutes, they’ll put two goals right past you. We’ve learned from that to just always be going at it a hundred percent.”
The Yellow Jackets heeded those words and have won four-straight games, most recently shutting out visiting John Jay-Cross River 3-0 on Sept. 16.
