Waterfront Park is one of Dobbs Ferry’s most popular outdoor public spaces, and in recent years part of its visual appeal has been due to the dedicated volunteers with the Friends of Waterfront Park, including co-presidents Kathryn Slocum and Jeanne Cronin Ceccolini.
Cronin Ceccolini and Slocum are founding members of the Friends, the nonprofit organization formed after major renovations were completed in 2015. That effort was led in large part by former Dobbs Ferry residents Marie and Arch McKellar, whose contributions registered in the millions of dollars. Slocum and Cronin Ceccolini, who live across the street from each other, have been co-presidents of the Friends for about four years, since the McKellars moved to Illinois.
