New girls’ hoops coach carries on legacy at Irvington

After 50 seasons, there will be a new head coach on the sidelines this winter for the Irvington girls’ basketball team.

But it’s a familiar face. Kaitlin Degnan, Irvington High School Class of 2007, takes over for Gina Maher, who announced her retirement in September. Degnan was a five-year varsity player under Maher and coached the Bulldogs’ junior varsity for the past four seasons.
