Volunteers of the Month: Altman and Walsh support children and families
Jennifer Altman and Lori Walsh at the Rivertown Thrift pop-up shop on Spring Street.

Lori Walsh and Jennifer Altman are both psychologists who have lived in Hastings for more than 25 years and raised children at about the same time. Walsh, who moved to the Hastings in 1999, has three children, while Altman, who moved to the village in 1996, has two children.

The two became friends when their kids were in preschool at the Hastings Co-op. Since then, they’ve become collaborators. Walsh volunteers as chair of the Hastings Youth Council, while Altman serves as the chair of the Friends of the Hastings Youth Council, which raises money to fund the council’s programs.
