New art market marks effort to see and be seen in person

The first Irvington Art Market, featuring the work of a dozen visual artists, aims to bring the community spirit of farmers markets to the art world this weekend at the Irvington Presbyterian Church.

The organizer of the event is mural artist and photographer Kimberly Patota of Tarrytown, who attended Irvington schools and graduated from Irvington High School in 2012. 

In an era when Patota finds both artists and collectors are beholden to the constraints of social media, she’s aiming to build a space for in-person interactions.
